The course is 24 Weeks long. 21 Weeks for the course contents and 3 Weeks for Project works.

Absolutely! To prepare for the AI Fellowship program, it is beneficial to have a solid foundation in certain subjects. We recommend taking courses in linear algebra, probability, statistics and basic calculus. Additionally, having some programming and computer science knowledge, particularly in python, will be advantageous. These preparatory courses will help you familiarize yourself with the key concepts and tools used in AI and data science.

The current state of market demand-and-supply for AI talent is such that the demand for competent AI talent far outweighs the supply. This is true both in and outside Nepal. Choosing a career in AI and ML will ensure a promising future. According to a research by S&P Global, AI-related jobs are cited as the second most sought-after career prospects. What’s more, the outlook for AI careers is also excellent, with the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics predicting a 13% jump in computer-related occupations between 2016 and 2026. The number of companies utilizing AI-enabled services is rapidly growing in Nepal as well, with different sectors such as banking, finance, and healthcare, inviting AI and ML engineers, data analysts, and scientists to improve integrated systems with AI. Innovative sectors in the country using AI-enabled services include mobile and internet banking, online shopping portals, financial institutions, online and blended education sects, IT sectors, public service sectors, customer service sectors, automation in agriculture and healthcare, among others.

The Microdegree™ in AI courses can be pursued by students and engineers who already possess basic Computer Science and Mathematics foundations. These prerequisites include basic knowledge of linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics. The program also requires programming experience in Python and know-how on the implementation of computer science algorithms and object-oriented programming. Participants should have the ability to run programs and interpret output from a command line terminal or shell. Ideally, students fitting the enrollment criteria generally include 4th year graduating students who check off the specifications. Prior to enrollment, students will be required to undergo an eligibility test to check if they have enough foundational skills to take the course. Additionally, you can also choose to pursue either or both of the courses in the Microdegree™ Specialization program after the completion of the Microdgeree in AI program.

As part of the AI Fellowship program, participants will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that align with real-world AI applications. These projects are designed to provide hands-on experiences and practical knowledge in applying AI techniques to solve complex problems. You will work on projects in areas such as machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, data analysis, generative AI, Large Language Models and more.

These courses are not university-accredited courses. They are provided by Fusemachines and are recognized by many other organizations.

Yes. All live lectures and discussion sessions will be recorded for your convenience. You can access the recorded sessions at any time through our online platform. In addition to live lectures, the program provides comprehensive self-study materials, including videos and programming notebooks, which you can access and review at your own time. Our program is designed to accommodate students from different locations, allowing you to join classes remotely.

Yes, students will be required to do certain project works pertaining to each course. Project works contribute 30% to the final grading in each course.

The Fellowship is geared towards IT students in their final year of education and graduates and professionals with a background in computer science and IT.

Those hoping to participate in the program must:
  • Have taken courses on linear algebra, probability, statistics and basic calculus
  • Have taken some programming and computer science courses
  • Have python programming skills
  • Be proficient in English
  • Work well with others, be a good communicator and have a positive learning attitude
All applicants will be asked to complete an entrance exam to assess whether they have the skills needed to participate in the program. Students will be tested on:
  • Programming (specifically python programming)
  • Linear algebra, calculus, probability and statistics
  • IQ and problem-solving
